Just as On Death and Dying taught us the five stages of death - denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance - Dr Elisabeth Kiibler-Ross and David Kessler's landmark On Grief and Grieving applies these stages to the grieving process and weaves together theory, inspiration and practical advice, including sections on sadness, hauntings, dreams, isolation and healing.
This new edition celebrates the life and work of Dr Elisabeth Kiibler-Ross a decade after her death and features a new foreword by Maria Shriver, who reflects on the legacy of On Grief and Grieving and the important role the book has played in her life.
On Grief and Grieving is a rich trove for anyone experiencing grief - a beacon shedding light, comfort and hope.

In "You Can Heal Your Heart," self-help luminary Louise Hay and
renowned grief and loss expert David Kessler, the protege of
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, have come together to start a conversation
on healing grief. This remarkable book discusses the emotions that
occur when a relationship leaves you brokenhearted, a marriage ends
in divorce, or a loved one dies. It will also foster awareness and
compassion, providing you with the courage to face many other types
of losses and challenges, such as saying good-bye to a beloved pet,
losing your job, coming to terms with a life-threatening illness or
disease, and much more.
With a perfect blend of Louise's teachings and affirmations on
personal growth and transformation and David's many years of
working with those in grief, this empowering book will inspire an
extraordinary new way of thinking, bringing hope and fresh insights
into your life and even your current and future relationships. You
will not only learn how to help heal your grief, but you will also
discover that, yes, you "can" heal your heart.
In gentle, compassionate language, "The Needs of the Dying"
helps us through the last chapter of our lives. Author David
Kessler has identified key areas of concern: the need to be treated
as a living human being, the need for hope, the need to express
emotions, the need to participate in care, the need for honesty,
the need for spirituality, and the need to be free of physical
pain. Examining the physical and emotional experiences of
life-challenging illnesses, Kessler provides a vocabulary for
family members and for the dying that allows them to communicate
with doctors, with hospital staff, and with one another, and--at a
time when the right words are exceedingly difficult to find--he
helps readers find a way to say good-bye. Using comforting and
touching stories, he provides information to help us meet the needs
of a loved one at this important time in our lives.
David Kessler – the world's foremost expert on grief and the coauthor with Elisabeth Kübler-Ross of the iconic On Grief and Grieving – journeys beyond the classic five stages to discover a sixth stage: meaning.
David has spent decades teaching about end of life, trauma and grief. And yet his life was upended by the sudden death of his twenty-one-year-old son. How does the grief expert handle such a devastating loss?
In Finding Meaning, Kessler shares his hard-earned wisdom and offers a roadmap to remembering those who have died with more love than pain, how to move forward in a way that honours our loved ones and ultimately transform grief into a more peaceful and hopeful experience.
An inspiring must-read for anyone struggling to figure out how to live after loss.
Ten years after Elisabeth Kubler-Ross's death: "An
inspiring...guide to life, distilled from the experiences of people
who face death" ("Kirkus Reviews")--the beloved classic now with a
new introduction and updated resources section.
Is this really how I want to live my life? Each one of us at some
point asks this question. The tragedy is not that life is short,
but that we often see only in hindsight what really matters.
In her first book on life and living, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross joined
with David Kessler to guide us through the practical and spiritual
lessons we need to learn so that we can live life to its fullest in
every moment. Many years of working with the dying have shown the
authors that certain lessons come up over and over again. Some of
these lessons are enormously difficult to master, but even the
attempts to understand them can be deeply rewarding. Here, in
fourteen accessible chapters, from the Lesson of Love to the Lesson
of Happiness, the authors reveal the truth about our fears, our
hopes, our relationships, and, above all, about the grandness of
who we really are.

vicious hate mail to uncover the truth. With Claymore a vulnerable
target in prison and the prosecution scenting blood, Alex knows

Way Out?

My name is David Kessler and I have been doing Digital Imaging for
about 15 years. I currently reside in Ithaca, NY. Most of my art
work is heavily influenced by texture and color. I like doing
artwork involving old and demolished buildings and other
architecture. I use Adobe Photoshop and I try to keep raising my
artwork to higher levels. I hope everyone will see and enjoy my

On a night out in London, teenager Tony Neuman is stabbed in what
appears to be a mugging. On a luxurious country estate, a lawyer is
asked to use his criminal contacts to make some discreet inquiries
into the disappearance of billionaire Fabian Digby. But when
Digby's body turns up floating on the Grand union canal and police
frogmen find Tony's watch in the canal, Tony's brother Phil comes
under suspicion and the lawyer teams up with with a maverick police
woman to find the link between the two deaths. The link is Gold a
perfume made by the company that Digby acquired just before his
death. But Gold is no ordinary perfume... it seems to have
addictive properties... "The pace is fast, characters convince and
the plot is well thought out. Kessler writes well." SUNDAY EXPRESS
"Kessler merges tense courtroom scenes with an intriguing storyline
to produce a very satisfying read." YORKSHIRE EVENING PRESS
"Courtroom battles share the limelight with high-energy action as
the story builds to a stunning climax." NORTH EASTERN GAZETTE
Young policeman Neil Douglas rushes to the aid of a woman who has
been stabbed on London's Hampstead Heath. Seeing a man standing
over the body, he lashes out with his baton, striking the man in
the head. There is just one problem: the man didn't attack the
woman; he was coming to her aid. Neil has just put an innocent man
in a life-threatening coma. "And the killer is still on the loose."
Supended from duty and tormented by guilt, he is determined to
trackdown the escaped killer. All the while he is taunted over the
airwaves by a pretty but bitchy American phone-in show presenter.
But who was the dead woman? Who is trying to hide every trace of
her past? And does her case have anything to do with another murder
case five years ago in which the "innocent man" whom Neil struck
was the prime suspect? Neil is determined to find the answers to
these questions - even if it costs him his life.
WHEN IT'S A MUSLIM, IT'S A TERRORIST. WHEN IT'S AN IRISH
NATIONALIST, IT'S A FREEDOM FIGHTER That at least was the attitude
of the American judge who refused to extradite Sean Murphy to stand
trial for planting a bomb in a London shopping mall that killed an
Indian doctor and a three-year-old kid. Now Murphy is dead and
23-year-old American medical student Justine Levy is on trial in
New York for his murder - conducting her own defense and resisting
all offers of help from her young, black standby-counsel. But the
evidence is circumstantial and the beautiful but vulnerable Justine
remains tight-lipped. Was she a vigilante or was it personal? Did
she know the child or the Indian doctor? Is she guilty? For her
lawyer it IS personal because he is falling for her. But who will
ultimately decide her fate? The jury? The ruthless gunman who has
come to New York to kill her? Or another man who has come in
pursuit of the gunman with a ruthlessness equal to that of Justine?
David Kessler's first thriller doesn't just excite and mystify, it
also asks some tough questions about vigilante justice and the
rights of the victim.
On the eve of the Jewish fast of Yom Kippur, middle-aged
emotionally-repressed English aviation engineer Conrad Finch, blags
his way onto an Israeli Air Force base and steals an advanced
stealth fighter jet that he designed. But why? Could it have
something to do with the beautiful young widow - twenty years his
junior - who recently dumped him? Or her four-year-old son, who
loves him like a father? Whatever the reason, with the Israeli Air
Force, RAF and USAF on his tail - trying thir damndest to shoot him
down - it really could be over in a flash Over in a Flash is the
first screenplay in the "Who can play the lead?" series in which
members of the public are invited to make suggestions on who can
play the lead via the website: whocanplaythelead.com
When 19 year old Bethel Newton accuses Elias Claymore of raping
her, America is deeply divided. In his youth, Claymore was a Black
power militant and convicted rapist who fled to north Africa. But
after undergoing a road-to-Damascus change, he came back to America
to serve out his sentence, reinventing himself as a neoconservative
and TV talk show host. Now, accused once again, Claymore turns to
his friend Alex Sedaka. But Alex is pressured by Claymore's
insurers into sharing the defense with Andromeda ("Andi") Phoenix,
whose black lover Gene works at a rape crisis center - straining
Andi's loyalties to the limit. Meanwhile Alex must battle his way
through DNA evidence, jury tampering and malicious computer
hacking, while his girlfriend - TV reporter Martine Yin - is
covering the case and putting herself in danger... Perfect for fans
of John Grisham, Scott Turow and Harlan Coben.
